Janet, thank you for transcribing these lists of freemen. I have started going through the ones for Ikerrin and will (eventually) get back to you and the list with some comments on the names and places mentioned. What is the source of these lists? Does the 1385 refer to a microfilm or ??? Geralyn Wood Barry in Oregon, where it is much hotter than normal On 6/29/2015 5:23 AM, Janet Crawford via wrote: > Freemen Ikerrin 1840 8 1385 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> > >
Geralyn, These are in the National Archives in Dublin. Those numbers are the Image numbers that we took from photoing the books, and I have them in there so I can find the list I need easily again. If you have remarks, please use those numbers as the reference. I would appreciate the help correcting names and places, some of which I could do but will take me a long time. Thanks Janet By the way, In addition to the names and places, the lists also show what property was held [Land(s); house(s); shop; etc.] and the date the person became a freeholder. What is the title of the book, Janet, so that I could find the additional information while in Dublin? Wanda, If you need the additional information, please write me directly and I will give it to you. Every item I have looked at has a registration date in the 1830's so far, so that is not much help. The type(s) of real estate holdings might be helpful if, for example, it is just land with no house. At any rate it will not be helpful for many people.
