    3. Hi all, I intend to do 1880 next and unless someone has an urgent wish for the rest of the 1880's, I will stop with that one. Or you can contact me directly for information on entries past 1880. I have tried to note name problems and have tried to standardize the spelling as much as I could to aid searching. Perhaps someday someone will have the time to put this on a spreadsheet as that would pick up more errors made either on the register itself or in the transcription, and other matters. I made occasional notes as to name variations/guesses throughout the transcription, but did not go back and amend what I had already sent. I had a discussion with a neighbor today as to the surname connected to Ballycohy, and my guess is that the surname that resulted over time may well have been "Cooney" in this area. There is a Cooney surname in other areas of Ireland that would not be connected. It's either that or the surname "Cohy" died out. When I have time, I will try to post some general information on the more commonly found surnames of this parish. Janet
