    3. Hi Listers. I was wondering if any one has any experience with researchers in Ireland. I live in Australia. My Shea ancestors came from around Ballinvreena in Emly parish in the diocese of Cashel and Emly. Now that the records can be accessed in the national library in Dublin, I'm hoping I can identify Shea marriages and births in Emly parish. My great great great grandfather, James O'Shea/Shea, was born about 1804 which is before parish records are available. But he was referred to as a native resident of Ballinvreena and lived on the family farm. He married Honora Nugent born about 1803 in Hospital parish, Limerick, also Diocese of Cashel and Emly on 7 Nov 1825 and I know of children baptised at Emly - Thomas, on 3 April 1829 (sponsors Patrick Shea and Allicia Shea), Johanna, on 29 May 1830 (sponsors Casey Edmond and Johanna Shea), Stephen, on 31 Dec 1833 (sponsors John Nugent and Norah Sullivan) and Sarah on 7 June 1836 ( sponsors John Whelan and Sarah Shea). Now the records may start too late for James, but it's quite possible that he had siblings born after their start. There are a number of Shea names in his children's sponsor list though there are clearly gaps even in the children's number. When Honora died in NSW in 1890, Sarah stated that besides the three living children, Johanna, Stephen and Sarah who emigrated with her to Australia in 1849 , there were 2 males and 3 females who had died. The 1832 Tithe records for Ballinvreena East show tithes due from William Shea, Stephen Shea, Honora Shea, Patrick Shea and James Shea. There's a Patrick Nugent in Ballinvreena West. Griffith's Valuation of 1851 shows Stephen Shea, Margaret Shea, Honoria Shea and William Shea plus Denis Nugent in Ballinvreena. So I would like to chase up any Sheas born or married in Emly parish. I'd also like to chase up Honora's background. Her parents are identified on her death certificate as William Nugent and Joanna McCarthy. Like Emly, Hospital records don't start until 1810. So can anyone recommend a researcher please. Thank you. Sue Ellis
