Tim, Lancashire, particularly the city of Liverpool, contained a large number of Irish. During the famine and subsequent years, Irish poured into the city looking for work. If my memory serves me well, I think about that time the Irish constituted about 25% of the city's population. My GGF and his brothers left Tipperary and went to work in Liverpool about 1850, spent 15 years there before emigrating to the USA in 1867. Phil Buckley
