From the Hibbert Review, by Isabella Campbell, 1953 - 1959 Concession 2, Lot 24 John DERMODY, a brother of William on Concession 3, came to the East 50 of Lot 24 from Tipperary with his wife the former Honora GLEASON. He owned this 50 from 1856. John and Honora had a family of four - William, a bachelor, Mary (Mrs Patrick ROACH), John and Bridget (Mrs Thomas PURSELL). John DERMODY, who married a neighbour, Ann PURSELL, had this farm for a time before he went to Nebraska. After John Sr died around 1875 his wife went to live with her daughter, Mrs Patrick ROACH and the farm was sold to Thomas MURPHY.
