My wife has a line of MacGregors. When the name changed, her line made it Gragg. The MacGregors were from the Belfast-Antrim area, some were in Dublin and apparently a few in Cork. This surname has the distinction of being the only Scottish clan to have their surname abolished by an Act of Parliament, and I don't know the details nor what name they chose in place of it.
