My family is Godsell and they were not Catholic. They lived in a Townland called Bishopswood, which is non-existent today. I found it on a very, very old map which I was able to get from County Tipperary about 5 years ago, but have now lost the map. Three of the sons of my Edward Godsell emigrated to the U.S. in the 1840-1850's, one of whom is my Great Grandfather. I do have his Naturalization Papers, but have nothing else other than his farm and burial site in Kansas, USA as well as family history that has been passed down verbally. I don't know when my Edward Godsell died, but have always been told it was after 1856 and one descendant of his has said that he wife, Margaret Sarah McGregor, married a Henry Howard around 1856. Edward, Margaret Sarah and Henry Howard all died in Ireland.
