I have some info on this family James Swan Kissock married Jessie McNeillie on the 9th Dec. 1841 At Urr, Kirk., Scotland. Jessie was the daughter of Alexander McNeillie and Ann King. Alexander was a doctor in the Royal Navy and served in Jamaica. James & Jessie had 5 children, Jessie, Marion, Ann, Alexander and Margaret prior to moving to Ireland. In Ireland they had 5 more Robert Swan, Ellen, Lillie, Jane and James Swan. In 1876 James inherited some money and land in Lochrutton Scotland so he moved back to Scotland. I believe at that time several of his children left for Canada. Jessie married John Menzies and had a daughter Jessie in 1878 in Canada. Jessie and her daughter moved back to Scotland and were living with her parents in 1881. Marion married Henry Dunnet in Canada and had one child in Canada before moving back to Scotland. Ann died 2 Oct 1875 in Toronto Canada, she was married to ??? King. Alexander returned to Scotland. Margaret married Patrick Finn and moved to Canada. They ran a hotel in Orillia Ont. Robert Swan returned to Scotland and is on the 1881 census living with his parents. Ellen returned to Scotland and married William Dickson, the son of one of the renters of the land James inherited. They came to Canada in 1882. Lillie returned to Scotland. She was still single in 1901 with one child. Jane returned to Scotland and married Andrew Henry. James Swan returned to Scotland then moved to Canada after 1881. He died in Orillia in 1888. Tom Dickson
