In my family tree including those in the subject line, I have a Shewell family whom I believe were born in Ireland as were mostof their neighbours. Edward Shewell and his wife Christine Heffernan were both born abt 1820. Two of their children Frederick and James Francis were born in Guelph, Ontario Canada. and later farmed in the Dornoch, ON., area of Glenelg Twp. Grey County. Frederick married Catherine Barry, who was supposedly born aboard ship from Ireland, d/o John Barry & Margaret Nagle, who also farmed in Glenelg and James married Rose Anne Gillen, whose family farmed in Sullivan Twp., Grey County, also in the Dornoch area.
