Hi all - I too am a lurker. I enjoy reading other people's posts, but being bogged down with trying to tidy up my own numerous notes and bits of trees, I have not been able to offer any assistance or help or ideas to anyone. There are some supremely talented and knowledgeable people on this site - well done to all of you. Most of my Roe clan lived in co Laois, but they are related to the ones who lived around Tipperary town and Cashel - many generations ago. I think Janet has done some work for a distant cousin of mine in California - think we worked out to be about 8th cousins. My Shortt and Bradshaw ancestors lived at Pallas, near Toomevara in early 1800s, and I would love to know if anyone has any connections. They would have been C of I (as are the Roe clan). The Fry family that I am seeking is Rev. William Baker Fry (1788 -1876) and his wife Jane Anne Roe (1796-1875). He was originally from Boyle, Co Roscommon and she was from near Rathdowney, Co Laois. They had a pile of children and we have been able to trace some of the lines, but there are sure to be some others that lay undiscovered. Thanks for any help. Regards Alison
Alison, I have the Bradshaw RC records for Pallas if those will help you at all. They would also be your relatives as of some unknown date. Despite having about 100 pages on Roe, I don't have the Laois records and would love to supplement that file. When you have time, contact me directly and we can trade info.
