Janet: I was unaware there were two lists. My "tree" includes both Fogartys & Meaghers. My Fogarty g-g-grandparents were John and Elizabeth (Costello) of Aghabeg, Co. Kerry, both b. abt 1800. I understand Fogartys originated in Tipperary. I don't know where or when they were married, as records in Kerry stop there. My Meagher connection is John Matthew Meagher and Mary Bridget Burke, both born abt. 1805 in Tipperary. and married in Tipperary abt. 1828. All children born in Tipperary. Their first child known was Mary, b. abt. 1830. nothing further. Next was son, Thomas Francis, who emigrated to Geneseo, N.Y. where son John was born and then the family moved on to Proton Twp., Grey Co., Ontario, Canada. He fathered a total of 15 children, plus two adopted with his 2nd wife in Proton & Glenelg Twps.. His son John married into the Fogarty family of my g-grandparents. I have most of the down-lines from both of those families. Two of John Matthew's other children are buried in Ontario and two across the border in Buffalo, N.Y. and Toledo, OH.
