Hello Joanne, I cannot see a connection with my Hanrahans (Grangemockler/Ninemilehouse) but a quick look on the IFHF South Tipperary site shows 2 civil birth registrations at Cashel CP for 1866 Bernard Hanrahan and 1869 James Hanrahan. Father James Hanrahan Mother Mary Cleary (for both). You would have to purchase these records (5euro each) for further information but it may be a good place to start. good luck. James, wife Mary Cleary Hanrahan, and their children: Edward, Bryan, Dennis, James, Mary Ellen, Patrick. They arrived in NYC in 1870 and settled on the Lower East Side. James was a shoemaker. I've checked tithe applotments and Griffith's but there are many many Hanrahans. Don't know where to go next. Thanks, Joanne Novarro -----Original Message----- F
Hi Mick, James and Mary are indeed my Hanrahans. I knew of the son James, is Bernard also a son of theirs? Thanks for your effort and the quick response. Hi Mo, Thanks for response... As you are probably aware there were plenty of Hanrahans in the Grangemockler area in the 19th Century. At least 12 properties in Griffiths. I have not been able to connect mine to any of the others (including yours) and I think that if such a connection exists it would date back to 18th Century or earlier.
