Our Dwyers/O'Dwyers had the nickname Cuipear, pronounced "coopayer", meaning cooper or barrel-maker. They were farmers & lived in Curraghpoor, Donaskeigh, about a half mile from the present church in Donaskeigh, on the road to Tipperary town. I'd like to contact descendants of Patrick, his brother Thomas and cousin John. Patrick Dwyer, born abt 1818, son of Patrick Dwyer and Julia Brain (Breen? Bryan? O Brien?)). In 1858 he married Mary McGrath in Ipswich, Queensland. Patrick was indent # 186, aged 20 years, could read and write, single and Roman Catholic, from Tipperary, Ireland and a cooper by trade. He departed from Dublin on Sat 8 Sep 1838, arriving at Sydney on Sat 29 Dec 1838, aboard the "Elphinstone". He received his certificate of freedom in 1845.
