Simon Saw your message on the Tipperary rollcall. I got onto the free search site at www.familysearch.org and there are a number of Egan birth registration in the index (to get the full record you would have to order it from www.groireland.ie and if you are doing so ask for a photocopy of the entry as it gives the same information and costs less) Anyway I found the following entries Margaret Mary Egan 1923 Nenagh registration district Quarter (the records are divided into quarters of the year) Jul Sep Vol 3 page 341 Josephine Mary Egan Nenagh district Oct Dec 1923 Vol 3 page 354 By the way Carrigatogher is just about 4 miles south west of Nenagh town. See Google map http://maps.google.ie/maps?hl=en&tab=wl Also Michael J Egan Nenagh Apr- Jun 1928 Mother's maiden surname is Whelan (in later years the index shows mother'ssurname which makes the search less difficult) vol 3 page 361 ( I checked www.pilot.familysearch.org for this and scrolled down to the Irish Civil Registration Index .) For the marriage of William Egan and Mary Whelan I found a possible match Both names have a marriage entry reference of Apr Jun 1920 Nenagh District vol 3 page 442. this means that both names are on the same page and it is probable that this is the reference of their marriage but it is not 100% certain. You would have to order the photocopy to be quite sure. You might like to start with the marriage rather than the births. Hope this is of help Regards Clare Tuohy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Simon Smith" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, June 21, 2011 6:44 PM Subject: Re: [COTIPPERARY] Let's try a rollcall > Hi Janet > > Not so much a roadblock but directions required.
