Does anyone know the area that they might know the name of an old RC Church that would have been in the area 1836 please. === Deirdre, Based on Clare's helpful URL, it would seem that either the Toomyvara village or the Grenanstown townland church would be likely. The northern edge of Garrane borders on Toomyvara village, and is less than a half-mile from the church. The western edge of Garrane townland borders on Grenanstown townland, and is likewise about a half-mile from that church. Pete .................................................... Pete, Thankyou for the information about the borders & distance to the other church at Grenanstown, that they also could have used. You must have a very good early map of the area. I appreciate your help.
