    1. [COTIPPERARY] ENGLISH Family from Clonoulty & Annacarty (Roll Call)
    2. Somerville/Murphy
    3. Hi all, My ENGLISH ancestors lived at Carhukeal (which has numerous spelling options) near Clonoulty, with records in the RC parish there and also in nearby Annacarty. Earliest known is Patrick ENGLISH who married Mary HONNERS about 1790. Mary ENGLISH, “alias ONERS” is buried in Clonoulty, so I have her dates as 1768-1831. I know of 5 children, although there may have been more: #1 Cornelius ENGLISH – eldest son, stayed on farm at Carhukeal where some of his descendants still live (well, they did when I visited in 1981) #2 Honora ENGLISH b.ca.1798 – apparently married 3 times and came to Victoria, Australia, with husband John COMANS in 1853. She died 1881. #3 John ENGLISH b.ca.1803 – married Mary CONNORS (who d. before 1855) at Annacarty in 1837. He came to Sydney, Australia, with family in 1855 and eventually farmed at Boorowa, NSW, where many other Clonoulty locals ended up. He d.1868. His daughter Grace is my g-g-grandmother. #4 James ENGLISH bapt.1806 Clonoulty. #5 Grace ENGLISH bapt.1809 Clonoulty, buried 1831 Clonoulty. I’d love to find out more about Patrick ENGLISH (ca.1765-ca.1840), who is described in records as both farmer and innkeeper. There were other ENGLISH families in Clonoulty around this time, which I’d be very keen to connect! Allan Murphy Sydney Australia

    1. [COTIPPERARY] Roll call - Horan, Deegan and Maher
    2. Robyn Horan
    3. Hi all, Timothy HORAN and Rose MAHER married 'somewhere" probably either Roscrea or Newport. My GG Grandfather, Terence, was born around 1812 "somewhere" and then twin brothers Timothy and Michael were baptized in Newport in 1813. Then John 1822, Elizabeth 1824 and William 1826 - all three baptized in Roscrea. Terence and his wife, Ellen DEEGAN, left Ireland in 1839 and came to Australia. On their shipping records it says his father (Timothy) was a publican in Roscrea at that time. I'd love to find out more about Timothy and Rose. Also, I haven't been able to find anything about the DEEGANs except that Ellen's parents were Thomas and Ann. Anything sound familiar to any listers? Cheers Robyn (in Sydney)

    3. If you happen to belong to both Tipperary lists and Christina's message confused you yesterday, her list (IRL) is NOT having a rollcall, but this list CoTipperary IS having a general rollcall plus questions on Tipperary genealogy. We have heard from few of our subbers so far, and I would love to hear from some of the lurkers who are shy to post. This is also giving me a chance to straighten out some of the old subscription and SORBS problems, so the more people that post a message, the better. Janet

    3. ---------- Forwarded message on behalf of Marc Stanley ---------- From: Marc Patrick Stanley <[email protected]> Date: Mon, Jun 27, 2011 at 5:36 PM Subject: Roll Call: STANLEY - Tipperary & Offaly > Canada I am interested in my Norman - Anglo- Irish STANLEY family, who has emigrated to Canada in at least three waves: 1820's to Ottawa Valley, Ontario, Canada, and 1840's to Lucan, Biddulph Township, Middlesex County, Ontario, and my direct line, in the 1910's - 1920's, to Campden, Niagara Region, Ontario, Canada, and Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. Recently, I revisited some websites, in regards, to The Black Donnelly Massacre, in Lucan and as far as I know the Shinrone originating Stanleys residing there were not directly involved. I had never read the word: "Whiteboys" before, and knew nothing about this group coming to Canada, as well as the Orangemen, and I had no idea they were active, in this country. Marc Patrick Stanley

    1. [COTIPPERARY] roll call Cleary, Smith, Duly, Hogan, Birr or surrounding area
    2. Diane Perkins
    3. Hi All!    My own research is on hold for now as I am not in the best of health and my 96 year old mother lives with me on in home respite care.  But I ask that if any kind soul out there comes across information on the following and could get back to me, I would appreciate it very much.       Thomas Cleary bd unknown but known to be married to:  Mary Duly having had a  son          named James bd date unkown.   This same Thomas Cleary  is known to have had          another wife named Mary Pardon and they produced a son Thomas  on Sept. 9          1838 dicocese of Killaloe, St. Brenden, Birr  Sponsors John Nevin, Ellen Hayden          and officiating priest,  John Spain PP.               The information on the son named James was from a marriage document found           at St. Mary's Church, St. Mary's, PA  USA.   The families were clearly connected           but what I can't confirm is if the men were full brothers or half brothers as some           times the woman's name was given as her maiden name or her married name.           Also the woman could have been married prior to marrying the elder Thomas Cleary           I know the area was that part of Tipperary bordering on Offaly.  Duly is in cursive           writing and could be a phonetic spelling.   James married a Margaret Jane Hogan          whose father's first name was not given but the mother's name is listed as           Mary Smith both of Tipperary as is The Elder Thomas Cleary which records indicate           he was from Tipperary along with two women names as mothers to the children.           The witnesses to the wedding of James and Margaret are given as Patrick           Cradigan and Mary Xowell (first letter could be a P or L.  Certificate bears a date           in Jan. 1865.            Believe Margaret may have had a sister name Jennie.                  Thank you in advance for anyone who comes across any info that would be helpful.             Diane Perkins   you may contact me off list if you wish  [email protected]
