    2. richhart
    3. Hello, I had someone ask me where the new stuff was about organizing and my computer hiccupped and I lost her address and the note I was typing to her. I thought others might find the link helpful, so here it is: http://www.familysearch.org/rg/guide/ALL_REF_DOC_-_Organizing_Paper_Files.ASP This is a great site and lots of other things to read now. AWESOME! Great reference for the new researcher.. glory bee xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -- Grand parents Raising Grandchildren Support Group 1st Wednesday of month---7:00 P.M. 1. [COSANJUA] igi255 ver 4.5
    2. richhart
    3. http://www.danbbs.dk/~jensg/igi25545.htm This DOS program allows a genealogist to down load files from the "IGI" files at the FHC. Place a 1.44 mb disk in drive A of the FHC computer.. (this may require assistance from a volunteer at the FHC center. Volunteers are aware of the program. ) One creates a file "name.txt " (as "family1.txt, family2.txt, family3.txt etc) and downloads up to 13-15- igi files per your selected name--family1.txt etc , one can place as many as 20 of those created files or folders on a 1.44 mb disk. At home, create the 'name.txt ' file on your drive... and one can view whatever was copied from the IGI files of the FHC. This enables one to search and research at ones leisure..midnite or early in a.m. --whenever! I have not used this particular version if igi255, but this available on the net. I have used igi255 ver 4.9 for several years and luv it! The URL I used for igi255 ver 4.9 is now a # 404--unavailable! I down load about 2000 names per disk then research and look at my leisure at home! I have not only viewed the computer screen program, but managed to copy the info to my word processor, and also I screen print / print from processor, the info if need be. Hope this helps! glory bee http://www.danbbs.dk/~jensg/igi25545.htm -- Grand parents Raising Grandchildren Support Group 1st Wednesday of month---7:00 P.M. 3. Good evening, We have 13 new photos added to the USGenWeb photos project. I would like to personally thank all who have visited the Colorado photos project and have sent their thanks for making it all come together. I would also like to thank Kristina Quintana & Marsha Petrie for sharing these wonderful photos with us. If any of you have Colorado Photos of your ancestors, first businesses, schools, churches, homesteads, old towns, ghost towns etc., you would like to share, we would love to add them to the site. Several family connections have all ready been made through this wonderful project. Clear Creek & Huerfano counties have a new page of photos. Many counties have more than one page of photos. Don't forget to use the links at the bottom of the county pages to view all of the photos. The new photos can be viewed by visiting the Colorado USGenWeb Photos Project at http://www.rootsweb.com/~cophotos/index.htm . Look for the counties with the gold stars for new additions. We have 7 counties that have no photos. If you have any of your ancestors from those counties, please help us reach our goal by adding every county on the map with photos. We are all most there! 3. Good evening, I have contacted our powers to be and have found that there is a merge in process with RootsWeb & Ancestry. The merge WILL NOT effect any of you at all or myself as a list owner or any method in which the way a list is ran. You will be able to perform your research as you always have. There is more details about this merge and also a free 14 day trial of Ancestry which allows you to have access of over 2,500 databases. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me. If you would like more information, please feel free to visit the two sites below for full information. Either of these sites will give you the full information. http://www.ancestry.com/home/celebrate/rootsrelease.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/merge.html Thank you, Addie

    3. Good evening, I wish you would not have posted this to the list. This is not a for sure thing as of yet. We as list owners have not yet gotten the final go ahead. As soon as I am notified about the change being final I will let all of the lists I have know about it. Please unless you know for a fact that a change is being made especially at this magnitude, verify what your stating is a fact. This lists is for genealogy and not for advertising and making early judgments. Again, I do apologize the message was sent to the list. And I want to keep the list for genealogy ONLY!!! Don't force me to baby-sit the list. RootsWeb is all about genealogy, don't get me wrong. But sending a message to a list before you know all the facts is also wrong. As soon as I know all the facts you as subscribers will be notified with all of the appropriate information.
