Hello, My name is Vickie Ortiz and I have recently launched a website called idaphoto in order to identify unknown lost photos that are inherited, found in antique shops, and found after a natural disaster. These are photos that are someone's mother, sister, brother, son, grandparents, great grandparents and so forth. We are hoping to get as many as possible identified and reunited with their families. The reason we are sending this to you is that we have a photo that relates to Colorado. Would you please take a look at it and see if you recognize any of these photos? Please see link below. http://www.idaphoto.net/colorado.html If you see a photo that you recognize would you please contact us at the link provided on the website. Thank you! Searching for info on the family of Bartholomew "Barney" O'Driscoll, who moved from Kansas to Silverton in 1880 and lived there until about 1910, when he moved down to Montrose. Barney had a law practice in Silverton. Barney's wife Elizabeth died there in 1888 and is buried at Hillside Cemetery. Their children were: James, Florence, William, Mary "Eliza", and John "Ed". Does anyone know about their descendants? _________________________________________________________________ Laugh, share and connect with Windows Live Messenger http://clk.atdmt.com/MSN/go/msnnkwme0020000001msn/direct/01/?href=http://imagine-msn.com/messenger/launch80/default.aspx?locale=en-us&source=hmtagline

Hi, I cannot imagine how your request ended up in my email, but I too have been looking into Silverton families, specifically from the period 1910-1920, and more specifically of men who worked for the Mears and Wilfley mill. I've found material on some of the families in WWI draft records, the US Census and various Silverton newspapers, mostly the Standard and The Miner. Unfortunately, the names you list are none of them on my list, so I have nothing directly to conribute. Do you know that you can get a CD with 1980-1920 census records for San Juan County from S-K Publications, at <census@SKeensus.com>? I don't know whether the same source has the LaPlata census records. The draft records are available on microfilm, either from the National Archives or I understand they can be borrowed through a local LDS church. Another source that has been useful has been Freda Peterson's 2 volume book The Story of Hillside Cemetery which lists the people buried in the Silverton cemetery usually with a short biography. Good luck! David, Greetings from Arizona, I have been doing research in Silverton looking for a Magnus Longstrom for many years. Have you run across that name anytime? He moved there and then in 1910 to Wyoming and then I lost him. He may have gone back to Silverton because he had a relative named Carl Longstrom living there. He is not in Fredas books. Find A Grave www.findagrave.com Among the best and biggest cemetery sites, Find A Grave lets you search 4.1 million grave records or look for specific cemeteries. You can also create virtual memorials and even add "virtual flowers" and a note to an ancestor's grave. Interment.net www.interment.net Our other favorite cemetery site puts online more than 3.2 million records from nearly 7,000 cemeteries worldwide. Browse transcriptions by region and check out special collections of veterans cemeteries. Obituary Central www.obitcentral.com Death is a lively topic here, with thousands of links to online obituaries; cemetery inscriptions; birth, marriage and death notices; and divorce records arranged by state and county, plus a collection of search engines that cover only obituaries. Access Genealogy www.accessgenealogy.com It's not just a useful online starting place, with genealogy-related news plus lots of links, but also a source for data. Researchers with Native American roots especially will want to explore the collection here, which includes the 1880 Cherokee census and the Final Rolls of the Five Civilized Tribes. Other resources cover military records, cemeteries, biographies, census records, immigration, African-American ancestry, vital records and more. Genealogy Resources on the Internet www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/internet.html The Web isn't the only way to research your family tree online; don't forget mailing lists, newsgroups, telnet and Gopher, technologies that predated today's ubiquitous WWW. This in-depth list, compiled and still continuously updated by Chris Gaunt and John Fuller, covers all those other ways to plug into your roots, as well as Web sites. Genealogy Today www.genealogytoday.com A useful stop wherever you are in your genealogical journey: Resources and how-to information are categorized for those just getting started, those who've been researching for several years and are mostly interested in recent generations, those who've already traced their families back multiple generations, and advanced genealogists (including professionals, librarians and educators). German Roots www.home.att.net/~wee-monster In addition to being a terrific starting point for pursuing your German ancestors, this handy site includes lists of links to US military records and death records of interest to all genealogists. Heraldry on the Internet www.digiserve.com/heraldry Also of interest to British Isles researchers, this site offers the best crash course on coats of arms on the Internet. Good evening to all, I have been sitting in the background watching the lists and apologize for not being very active. My thought have been with my family member. You might ask what this has to do with our research, and I will tell you it is our shared surname that makes the connection. My brother-in-law is trying to battle Multiple Myloma and not winning the battle. For those of you that do not know what this is, it is cancer. It is in the same family as Leukemia. At this moment he has gone through his second transplant and is not doing well at all. The rejection factor appears to be high right now making the situation worse. They have two children and are trying to do the best they can with all that is happening. Cancer is a mean and ruthless attacker. It is not prejudice and does not care what the age of a person is. He is currently held in the cancer unit in Iowa City. If any of you can find it in your hearts to send him and his wife a get well card or we are thinking of you card or letter it would be greatly appreciated. I know that they would appreciate it and it could bring better days for him as they would certainly appreciate it. He is in Isolation and will be for about 4-6 weeks. You can mention your an acquaintance of Addie if you so choose. For those whom would like to send a card or letter rather it is hand made or done on the computer, please send it to : Mr. & Mrs. Mark Walker Sunset Motel 7023 Hwy 64 & 136 Wyoming, IA 52362-7576 I very much thank you for your time in reading this and am very sorry if this has offended anyone of you. For that I apologize. Sincerely, Addie - List Admin
