    3. Hi Jeanette The Cornwall online parish clerks database indicates that the father of Silas Johns was Thomas Johns. The database also tells us that Thomas Johns married Joanna Eva on 13 Jan 1823 at St Hilary, and after Joanna's death in Jan 1824 giving birth to son Josiah, Thomas (widower of St Hilary) married Jane George on 1 Aug 1824 at St Erth. The following children of Thomas and Jane were baptised at St Hilary: Trevenen 19 Jun 1825 James 14 Sep 1828 Jane 28 Apr 1833 Silas 17 Apr 1836 Elizabeth Anne 16 Jun 1839 Thomas Johns was buried on 9 Oct 1846 at Ludgvan, aged 50, of St Hilary. His widow, Jane, appears in the 1861 census at St Hilary, aged 66, born Sennen, living with unmarried sons Trevennen and Silas. This information leads me to believe that she was the Jane George baptised on 10 Apr 1796 at Sennen, daughter of John and Honour George. Jane Johns was buried on 8 Apr 1862 at St Hilary.
