To get to the point, I was reading a book, "Foundation: The History of England from its Earliest Beginnings" by Peter Ackroyd and found something I had never heard before: "In Cornwall, at the end of the same century, (i.e., 19th) s colony of red-haired people were called 'Danes' with whom the local population would not marry." Danes is familiar, probably smackingly-so, but the story is new.Does anyone know anything about it? Thank you in advance, Beth Marcheschi Colorado ------------------------------ To contact the CORNISH-GEN list administrator, send an email to [email protected] To post a message to the CORNISH-GEN mailing list, send an email to [email protected] __________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word "unsubscribe" without the quotes in the subject and the body of the email with no additional text.
