Hi Jan Two possible sources would be the Cornishman newspaper, published in Penzance, the Morrab Library or some very good St.Erth Parish records which are obtainable by googling that address. However, whether there would be any official record while the war was still in progress could be doubtful. The nearest Catholic church would be in Hayle (St.Elwyns??????) but try the Morrab Library for historical information. A lot of the prisoners either didn't get repatriated or came back as soon as they could. I remember the shock when I met a girl in Perth, Western Australia, who was more Italian than Mussolini but spoke with a broad Glasgow accent!
