    1. [CORNISH-GEN] Death Duty Registers

    3. FindMyPast has the index to Death Duty Registers. And I found an entry for Peter Keam of St Mewan in 1823. The Court is given as Ars Cornwall. And it shows Register 3, Folio 1131 for the entry. 1 - What is in the indexed record -- the record on folio 1131 of register 3? Is this a record of his estate, or is it just a record of the levying and/or payment of the death duty? 2 - Where it the indexed record?

    3. Hi Wesley I would suggest reading the following guides on the National Archives <http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-person/deathduty.htm> <http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/research-guides/death-duty-records-1796-to-1903.htm> You may need a researcher at Kew to gain a copy I have one from 1854 which lists all his children and the only record that they were all illegitimate, they are in abbreviated form but I gained a lot from it Whether yours would I can't say I did also see the following in the Country court death duty registers 1796-1811 Abstract of Will of Thomas Keam of St. Mewan, Cornwall Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 15/11/2014 04:06, Wesley Johnston via wrote: > FindMyPast has the index to Death Duty Registers.
