Just noticed that on the British Old Newspapers site (and that's not it's official title), the West Briton starts in 1862. Nice to know our work is still of value. Given the condition of the papers in 1836 - 1839, and the condition of the type (blops of ink being the greatest problem) 1840-49, the earlier papers will probably never get to those websites; it takes a human eye & mind to decipher what was intended. So guess we'll keep going for a while longer - at least til 1862. Cheers, Julia - PS, Does anyone know if the earliest papers, from 1810 onward, were ever filmed? Are they available for transcribing?? ...................................................................................................
