I had a whole family with the same middle name for a few generations, girls and boys including my mother and her siblings. I was told a story that if these children married someone with a certain name they would get a lot of money. We'll that wasn't true. After I started genealogy and found that it was my 3rd great grandmother's maiden name. Lets just say that it was easier to find them as the last name was Symons.
