    3. Hi Sharon, The 1861 census has only one likely candidate: Charles Henry SAUNDERS, a 7 year old pauper inmate at the workhouse in Liskeard. His birthplace is given as St. Germans. FreeBMD shows a birth registration for a Charles Henry SANDERS in the March quarter of 1853, St. Germans, Vol. 5c, p.41. Right quarter, but out by a year, which isn't at all unusual when looking at birthdates given in the 1800's. If he was in Liskeard as a 7 year old, that could also account for him giving it as his birthplace. His first marriage was to Mary Jane NICHOLLS. If you have that marriage certificate which should have his father's name and occupation, you could try ordering the birth certificate specifying that father's name "must be..." and see if it matches up with what you know.
