Hi All - Perhaps this is only new to me, but the David Rumsey Map Collection is online, and free. The collection of 34,000 maps is mainly focused on North and South America, but has maps from elsewhere (including a map of the heavens created in 1693!). The website has several innovative features which are very, very nice, and it's going to take me a long time to fully explore it.
