Tryphosa Kate Withiel was a descendant of the Withells from Padstow. Her father was William Withell shipwright. Kate Withell came to Australia in August 1859 on the Commodore Perry as an assisted migrant. She married Elisha Trescowthick and was joined later by a sister and a brother. There are many descendants here. My website at withell.org is finally back on line and if you read through the St Merryn /Padstow page there is a photo I took of a young man looking at an old tombstone in the doorway of the St Merryn church in 1994. He is actually her gx2 grandson. I am hoping to upgrade the site. You will note the index under the Perranzabuloe Withiells tab needs additions. Margaret Whitaker
