After a very brief flurry of some 10 messages I have not heard any festivities for seven days ! Did I do something wrong ? Have I been cast into solitary confinement in the BODMIN GOAL ? I am looking forward (not) to celebrating Christmas with some skinny rats who are my companions.
Yoo-hoo, . Never fear - We're on the way to rescue you. . The girls and I (my keeshond dogs) have managed to climb aboard an absolutely marvelous sky machine - sort of a very deluxe hot air balloon, with an enormous lounge (think about the Tardus) and plenty of storage space for the cookies I've been busily baking. The ginger/orange/molasses snaps are extraordinary, by the way. (free recipes at startribute.com/cookies, by the way) . Have decided to wear my very best dress, with the good sleeves, over quite a few layers of 'undergarments'; petticoats, and such. Shall swirl beautifully over the polished rock floors of the gaol, I expect. Hopefully the décolletage won't attract crumbs.. I hate having a crumby corset, doesn't everyone? . Have also borrowed a puddy tat named Shadow - he's a fearless, quite large black cat who is the quickest cat I've ever seen, and he's quite good at dispatching skinny rats. So you'd better warn them!! (Keeshonds are also known as good ratters, too. Kira tries her hand every once in a while with squirrels and rabbits, but it isn't as much fun for her. She'd welcome a chance to sharpen her skills.) . A two-dog night can be a treat at upper altitudes, where the temperatures might drop. . Will we need a key to rescue you? Are there any others lurking the dungeons, who might be interested in a bit of warm drink and light repast, as well as a bit of light, music, and possibly a dance or two? Some of my most interesting acquaintances spent some time there, as you may know. They were always the most grateful for a bit of fun!! . Mary, you definitely should come along. The views of the stars are MAGNIFICENT at this altitude - it looks like a sparkly carpet of diamonds on darkest blue velvet, as night descends. And it's so quiet!! You can imagine the solar winds blowing everything about, like dandelion seeds. . Has anyone arranged for Emidy's band to play? They're soooo good, and used to playing until dawn's early light! . It would be great if others would like to join us. Wouldn't everyone want to try some of my cookies?? Banished? Banish the thought. No, some of the gang have had real world matters to clean up. Party on, say we all!boatAlbert and the crew of the James Bond Inflatable Zodiac Commando Boat, now chugging merrily out of Delaware Bay and into the wondrous Winter North Atlantic > Date: Tue, 18 Dec 2012 22:18:39 +0000 > From: olifant@optushome.com.au > To: cornish@rootsweb.com > Subject: [CORNISH] Party 2012 - status ? > > After a very brief flurry of some 10 messages I have not heard any > festivities for seven days ! > Did I do something wrong ? > Have I been cast into solitary confinement in the BODMIN GOAL ? > I am looking forward (not) to celebrating Christmas with some skinny > rats who are my companions. > ------------------------------- > Subscribe to digest by sending an email to CORNISH-D-request@rootsweb.com with the word SUBSCRIBE in the subject line and body text. After finding last year's party astonishing and amusing I thought I may "come to the party this year". I can't find the ship Cartvale my Gt Gt Grandmother came out to New Zealand on,aeroplane travel is too expensive and my waka has a hole in it...and I can't find the time to cut down a totara tree (besides there are rules about doing such things to native trees now). To navigate my way by the stars might be difficult because I can't read the names of the stars. Anyway we just may be going to have a descent summer this year and I really do want to enjoy it. I remember sending an email to some poor unfortunate, who came out to visit his daughter in Auckland, hoping for a summer holiday and it was miserable weather Also I am not sure about the free accommodation on offer! So I think I will stay at home. My son and daughter in law are in New Zealand on vacation right now so maybe they can bring you back as far as New York City, where they live, when they go home. You would have to start paddling east at that point. By the way, they are both Hobbit fans, saw the new movie in Christchurch the day they arrived and are going on a tour of the film sites. I have wondered if Bilbo Baggins is Cornish. He's a little short guy and doesn't he have something to do with "Middle Earth"? Sounds like a mine to me...I really need to read those books............... Stay home? Remember this a Virtual Party. No limits, you may do (almost) anything you've a mind to. > From: robj@ihug.co.nz > To: cornish@rootsweb.com > Date: Wed, 19 Dec 2012 12:22:07 +1300 > Subject: Re: [CORNISH] Party 2012 - > > After finding last year's party astonishing and amusing I thought I may > "come to the party this year".
