    3. This evening, whilst on my hands and knees (weeding garden) I was struck by a thought. Not a usual occurrence I agree, but I was transported back to the mid 1950s. In those days my mother used to purchase the "English Women's Weekly". It contained a comic strip of Rupert Bear, many advertisements for matron's amour-plated foundation garments, and a smudgy advert for a genuine lucky Cornish Piskey Charm called "Joan the Wad." Anyone else remember? Anyone sucked in? Any matrons sucked in? Joan has made it to Google which may, or may not, be lucky.. B

    3. I suppose that those matrons might have needed "amour-plated foundation garments" according to their circumstances but the possibilities seem to be limitless!
