I have been working on the wife of William Corlew who is sometimes said to have been named Frances? I doubt that, but think she was Phebe Harris, daughter of Elias Harris. There seems to be some sort of tradition linking him with that family and the circumstantial evidence is major. Elias Harris's daughter Frances married James Vincent Harper in Halifax Co NC in 1790. Phebe Harris is the only Harris daughter without an identified husband. Since at least three of William Corlew's children named a daughter Phebe, a fairly uncommon name, it seems probable it was Phebe Harris whom he married.
