    3. Hello Cathy, Answers about barns... both barns are now gone. The PL barn was burnt down by a vindictive fellow named Eric Clubine who had a grudge against the owner of the ranch Si Berthelson (I believe that happened around 1957 or 1958) Eric was sent to prison for the deed. Several horses perished in the fire. I need to look up the actual articles in the local papers in Meeker the next time I visit there. I grew up in that area and attended high school in Meeker. The Square S Barn was taken down by the Fish and Game who now own that ranch. I find it interesting that those two barns were the only large barns on Piceance Creek. Piceance Creek and Yellow Creek can be found on map of northwestern Colorado in Rio Blanco County, both of these streams feed into the White River the river that flows by Meeker Colorado. What was your interest in visiting the cemetery at Meeker? Many of the early pioneers of Piceance are buried there. Looking forward to hearing more from you.
