Piceance Creek is very familar to me. I am currently writing a book about this area. The Pearson place that I knew of was located on Fawn Creek a tributary of Black Sulfur which flows into Piceance Creek. My Mom and I used to drive to by that ranch often because we liked to go to the "Indian Fort" that was located up the road from the ranch. It was a lovely place with a spring and the ranch house was built on the eastern hillside above the spring. You may find the homestead claim under the name of AlbertE. Pearson. Please feel free to call me at 908-876-1956 and I will tell you how to do this. It's really easy and free. There are two claims under that name. One filed 2/26/1915 and another 7/25/1914.
