I could not find Madoline Virginia Calkins in the same records. We had a Calkins family who lived here and one daughter Virginia still lives in Meeker. You will need to contact Ardith Douglass, the curator of the White River Museum in Meeker, CO to access this information. Be aware that if we do any research for you, you will have to pay for it. Everyone was killed at the agency during the massacre. The White River Museum operated by the Rio Blanco County Historical Society has a complete listing and index of all obituaries published in the Meeker Herald since the town was founded in 1885 up through the present. You may contact the Museum for assistance at 970 878-9982. They are open seven days per week from about 10 am to 4 pm. A similar resource has documented burial sites for most individuals interred in the Highland Cemetery in Meeker.
