I think the only other thing you missed in the convoluted company history was the fact that somewhere along the line Parsons Technology which owned Family Origins was purchased by one of the companies that owned FTM and gradually FO was no longer being supported (killed off). The creator of Family Origins went on to create RootsMagic. If we are going to mention all of the acquisitions along the way we also shouldn't forget that prior to RootsWeb being sold to MyFamily.com, RootsWeb acquired Genealogy.net--not to be confused with Genealogy.com.
