David Rencher gave a talk at the FGS conference in Cincinnati in 1998 in which he discussed various copyright laws and their effects on genealogy. Unfortunately, my notes from the lecture are very incomplete (read 'incoherent'). I seem to remember him saying something about European copyright law making it illegal to transmit information [on living people, I believe] by media such as GEDCOMs, e-mail, floppy, etc. Can anyone help me out on this?
