    3. She failed to mention that you must first open/execute/click on an ATTACHMENT. Don't open unknown attachments! 3. there is something not quite right about SirCam virus. I am getting messages from peope I NEVER HEARD OF. Therefore it can't be simply address book. Likely picked up from messages that were posted to lists. I have ZoneAlarm installed to work side by side with Norton AV whenever I download the messages. ZoneAlarm stop SirCam virus more effectively because of wide variety of corrupted file attachments SirCam hijack from other people's personal files. W. 3. Yes, I have actually received two. A friend who has a website has received dozens over several days. I suspect, plan to ask him to confirm, that he may be webmaster (with address) or there is an email link at the website with his address. I personally received the virus from a server that hosts a mailing list. Everyone on that mailing list received the virus email. I believe (again my conjecture) that the virus captured the mailing list that might have been banked on the server. I had *not* posted to that mailing list so it definitely was not a result of having publicly posted. It is a very peculiar one. I do use Zone Alarm and Inoculate (check for updates every single day in this wild period) and Zone Alarm has withstood the test well. Elaine ----- Original Message ----- From: "W. 3. Except of course for those of us who maintain current AV patterns, full time scanners AND know not to open attachments without scanners AND of course, know how to preview the e-mails without opening them! so we never get infected. ----- Original Message ----- From: "lisa" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, July 25, 2001 5:22 PM Subject: virus please ready!!!!!!!!!! > hi all of you are infected with a virus.....it's a virus > that thousands of people have and are getting, and it > also brings back the snow white virus......why > these people make virus' is mind boggling........ >
