Posted on: Pueblo Co. Co Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Co/Pueblo/175 Surname: DEUS, MANZANARES ------------------------- My great grandfather Peter DEUS was a deputy Sheriff in Pueblo and died of a possible medication overdose Dec 9, 1904. He was buried in Riverview Cemetary. He had lived in Pueblo for 12 years, leaving a wife and 4 children in Walsenburg Colorado since 1892. No one knew till now what had happened to him, or wanted to say. I believe he had a common law wife and maybe children. His picture is posted on the Huerfano County Web Page under Juan Pedro DEUS, his given name. He had also been a translator for the state legislature for many years. He was the son of Captain Carl Richard Deus an early pioneer of Southern Colorado. At the time of his death his son Charles DEUS lived in Pueblo and the funeral was at his home. I would appreciate any information. Thank You,
