The children were Charles, Mabel and Eva. They were all born between 1890 and 1900. At least one of them, possibly all, was known to have been born in Pueblo. The family story is that their mother was swept away in a flood, and that Levi, unable to raise them alone, put them up for adoption. Mabel grew up in Gunnison CO. Levi moved to Hebron, Nebraska, married Pansy Johnson, and had eight or ten more children. My grandfather was one of those children. Does anyone know of any lesser floods that happened between 1895 and 1901? And does anyone know if informaiton about adoptions is available to persons not directly involved? Thanks very much!
