PATTERSON married Margaret Adaline BRANSON (daughter of Levi Branson) at Mossy Creek, Jefferson County, Tennessee. The bond is dated 6 Dec 1847, they may have been married on the 8th. By Rev. Caswell Tilton. The bondsman was Benjamin Blake. Circa 1849 they left the area never to return and lost touch with former aquaintances. Circa 1850 they were living near Jonesborough, Washington County, Tennessee. They were living in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri from 1853 to 1857. Circa 1860 they were living near Glasgow in Scott County, Illinois and remained there until circa 1869. James F. Patterson was enrolled as a private in Company D, 129th. Regiment, Illinois Volunteers 13 Aug 1862. He was mustered out with Company 8 Jun 1865 near Washington, D.C. Circa 1870 we find them living in Lana Township, Cherokee County, Kansas, where they owned a few acres. They lived in this area and possibly Oswego, Kansas until the Spring of 1873. Land Deeds show that in 1873 they were living in El Paso County, Colorado. They also may have lived in Pueblo, Colorado. Circa 1880 they were living near Alamosa in Conejos County, Colorado. Possibly went back to Pueblo then moved to Montrose circa 1882. Circa 1885 they were living in Montrose County, Colorado. James F. Patterson was born circa 1829, and died 4 Dec 1894 in Montrose, Colorado. Place of birth is uncertain, could be Tennessee, Virginia or West Virginia, or Ohio. Margaret A. Patterson was born 5 Jan 1833 in Tennessee, and died 23 Aug 1905 in Montrose, Colorado. Levi Branson was her father. Known names of children of James and Margaret Patterson were: Caroline, George W., Anna E. Trone, Louisa, Manda Sephronia Townsend, Willie, and Frank. [Written and compiled by Monte K.
