The Walter Jones I have referenced was Walter James Jones (b 1829 - d 1910), son of James W. and Catherine Shaffer Jones of Jones Mills, Westmoreland County, PA. James W. Jones (b 1787 - d ?1871) was the son of Thomas and Catherine Wilson Jones who came over Laurel Hill to Westmoreland County from Somerset County about 1793 and established the grist and saw mills around which the village of Jones Mills grew.
