Laura, thanks for the information....I am passing this on to all of my list mates! Someone will find it useful. Did you find any Days from our tree there? None of the Days listed looked familiar. There were quite a few Maddux(ox) as well, although not familiar in my line. Sincerely, Janette Thought you might be interested in this. > This site was created by the U.S. Army Military History Institute > and it is a searchable database of their Special Collections. > Using this database you can see if a photograph exists of your > Civil War ancestor. > > Just enter the surname you're searching and the results page will > give any photos of any soldier with that surname, along with (if > known) his regiment. > > Next, you can send an e-mail with the photo ID's that you're > interested in. Hi all, I read this article in USA TODAY regarding the fragility of floppy disks, CD's, video, etc. for storage. I've had this pointed out before, but it is worth being reminded that any of the mentioned things could easily happen to any of us and all our precious data. With so much available on the 'net we all store info on our hard drives, disks and what not. If something happens...poof! There goes all our work! Quality paper and ink are still worth the space they take up. The article can be read at: http://www.usatoday.com/money/bcovfri.htm Bonnie Caruthers CARUTHERS/DANCY/PORTER TN/MS/MO/MA/NY BENESCH/(VON)BEISSIG/DRAPER/SCHLESINGER/ IN/CO/AUSTRIA/GERMANY

Hello, I'm new to your list...live in Wisconsin and need a lookup of a death cert for John McCaffrey died Oct. 20, 1894. By most happy to compensate someone for their time in doing this for me. If it is the right John he would be my gggrandfather. Is there a historical society there that would do an obit lookup on him for me? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Regards, Judy Boguski

Hello fellow researchers, This is my first post to the Pueblo Colorado list. I hope I meet new cousins and find new information. This is what I have so far: My great grandfather, Richard Oglesby OSBORN, came to Colorado from Kansas with his parents, James and Sarah OSBORN. Grammy, Zola Beatrice COOK, came to Pueblo with her parents, William Madison COOK and Flora Belle EMERICK. Grammy was said to be 'drop dead gorgeous.' She was supposed to have dated the governor of Colorado sometime between 1909-1910? She took a secret to her grave that I recently uncovered. She told everyone that her husband died when my grandmother was a baby. I found out that they actually divorced and he remarried and had two sons by his second wife. Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away before this was found out. Though I did find and have been in contact with the two brothers. Zola Beatrice COOK, b. 29 Nov 1888 in Winterset, Madison County, Iowa, d. 1981 in Pittsfield, Maine (lived most of her adult life in California). She married Richard Oglesby OSBORN in June 1911 in Pueblo, Colorado. Richard was b. 10 June 1888 in Hoyt, Kansas, d. 1959 in Michigan. They had one child together. Anita Frances OSBORN, b. 27 Mar 1912 in Pueblo, Colorado. When Anita was around 2-4 years old she had long blonde curly hair. I was told that indians would sit around outside the home she lived in and wait to get to see her. She was supposed to be a beautiful little girl. I hope that some of this sounds familiar to someone out there. Please contact me, if we have some kind of connection. I have a few pictures to share.
