    1. [COPUEBLO] FISHER
    2. Laura Clark
    3. Hello to all the fellow listers. I am just now new to this list. I have a huge favor to ask all of you. I am trying to find my half-sister. Her name was Christina Fisher. I am getting closer to finding out more information on her mother. Her mother may have been Donna Fisher in 1964-1965. She worked as a nurse's aide at Covington's Airport Nursing Home. She lived there until 1968 when she moved to Lane. I do not have anything further on her. Christina would have been born 1964-1965. Our father was JW Fisher, aka John Washington Fisher. Dad left there in 1965. It was after he left there that he was told he had a daughter. Or at least that was when he told me I had a sister. In 1983 Dad passed away with cancer. On his death bed he asked me to find Christina. I have been looking for her ever since. So now I need your help. I live in Oregon, and cannot get to Pueblo right now. Is there anyone living in Pueblo that knows of this family? Maybe you might know or remember my family? Pink Fisher was my grandfather. Ross and Robert were uncle and great-grandfather. Earl and Essie Mae was an aunt and uncle. All of these were Fishers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Laura Clark Yigaguu osaniyu adanvto adadoligi nigohilvi nasquv utloyasdi nihi!" 2. Kathy Scott
    3. Re: Charles McALISTER Any and all suggestions please about how to verify a statement in his obit (Pitkin 1904), saying, "He was a US mail carrier when the country was overrun with Indians and carried the last message from Gen. Thornburg to Agent Meeker just before the Meeker Massacre" (1879). There is no military file on him at NARA. I've checked Carlisle Barracks, PA, and have looked for lists of Crook's scouts and John Steele's scouts who were recruited around western NE/KS where Charles came from. He was said to be carrying mail out of old Ft. Morgan later, abt 1880-1882, and was based primarily out of Pueblo after abt 1885 when not mining in the mountains. I have a 1902 letter to him from a friend J. Mooney in Pueblo stamped, "Gen. Thornburg, D.V.S, Colorado Springs". Does anyone know what D.V.S. stands for? Where are the resources for Gen. Thornburg's staff, civilian or army employees and births at old Ft. Morgan, or Indian Scouts in general? Any suggestions? Thanks, Kathy in NE

    1. [COPUEBLO] Hi
    2. Hi, all, I am new to this list tonite. Just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself. I live in Charlottesville, Virginia, and am a hobby genealogist. I work for the School of Law at University of Virginia. I've been working on my own lines for 25+ years. My Pueblo, Colorado connection is for a friend who is not online, and although I have personal roots in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, I do not seem to in Colorado, but one never knows! In any case, I am glad to be here, and am sure this list is just as wonderful as the others on rootsweb. I have access to many Virginia records here, although not a lot of free time, but am willing to exchange, time allowed. Meg
