Hi All, My mother Mary Berlin Ralston was born in Pueblo Feb 1 1912, daughter of William Alexander and Nellie Joel Prince Ralston. I believe they may have been md there Feb 11, 1911. After a few years he was transferred to Utah by the railroad. His older brother, Edwin Elder Ralston, may have lived there also, coming from living in McPherson, KS. He had a son, Ed, and a daughter Nettie, named for mother (Maria Antionette-who went by Nettie). We think she majored in home economics where she worked. While visiting William in Salt Lake, Utah, Edwin died in 1929 and is probably buried in Pueblo. Edwin was a hotel cook when they lived in McPherson. He was md to Lucy Raffenberger/Raffensperger, who we think he knew and md in PA where they were born and raised. For several years I have tried to find them in Kansas, as my grandmother related (35 years ago) that they were from there. I have had no success. Recently, in going over notes written down as a teenager, I realized that they could have lived in Pueblo by the time that my grandparents were md there. I believe my grandmother was working there as a nurse and that my grandmother met her there. Perhaps he transferred on the RR to Pueblo to be near his brother Ed and his family. Any help with these elusive Ralstons would be greatly appreciated. I have discovered so much more on earlier ancestors, and my grandfather's siblings seem to remain hidden from view. Susan (Ralston) McCulley Eppich
Posted on: Pueblo Co. I know that John Herbert Hill, s/o Meredith Hardin Hill, was living there when he returned to Alleghany Co. to get a delayed birth certificate. He had a sister named Laura Octavia who (I think) married a Smith, according to the info on John Herbert's death certificate. If anybody that knows anything about these people reads this, please email me! Thanks.
Dear list, Is there anyone out there that could look up an obit for John Mc Caffrey(McCaffery) died in Pueblo CO on October 20, 1894. The obit might mention survivors. I am looking for information on his parents, his place of birth (besides just Ireland) his date of birth and who was the person that gave the information on the death certificate. If anyone has an address for me to write to to obtain a copy of the death cert please advise He had originally immigrated to near Watertown, WI in the late 1830s or early 1840s before going to Pueblo. I have reason to believe he was my ggggrandfather. He may have had a son, Bart, that lived there with him. His daughters, Bridget and Margaret remained in Wisconsin. Thank you in advance for any assistance, Judy Boguski

Posted on: Pueblo Co. Co Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Co/Pueblo/157 Surname: Stone, Bickford ------------------------- Kenneth Vaughn Stone is the father of my grandmother. She never knew him. When she was a teen she found proof that her mother had lied about who her real father was. Kenneth was born 6-25-1904 in Pueblo Co. and died 4-1972. He was married to my ggrandmother for a short time. Their marriage cert. says that they married on 8-29-1926 in Poctello, Idaho. My grandmother was born 8-21-1928. She questions her birth year. There are pictures of her mother pregnant in 1926, maybe there is a sibling born before her and Kenneth raised that child. My grandmother NEVER KNEW ANYTHING about Kenneth until she applied for her social security and had to prove she was born, only then did she learn where he was from and his vitals. Maybe there are more siblings out there. She is getting older and has not had very good health this year, if anyone who reads this knew Kenneth or any other children he may have had my grandmother would love to know about them. Kenneth's father was Maxwell and his mother was Emma (Bickford) Stone. Thanks in advance Kelly Lawson

Posted on: Pueblo Co. Co Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Co/Pueblo/154 Surname: Montgomery ------------------------- Looking for the family of David Montgomery, who is listed on the Pueblo 1880 Census, Pueblo Township, Page 255. I believe he is the son of William P. Montgomery and Sarah Hall. In 1895, when William P. passed away, his obit listed his son David in Colorado. The David Montgomery I am looking for was born in Wisconsin. His parents had just left Westfield, NY, and stayed in Beaver Damn Wisconsin for a few years, were there for the 1850 Census. After David's birth, they traveled and settled in Lawrence, Kansas, Douglas County and were there for the 1860 census and Quantrels Raid. After this the family moved to Hays City, Ellis Co. Kansas, by 1875, where the father, William Penn Montgomery, practiced law, and also ran the city newspaper, the Hays Sentinal, with his other son Frank. W. P. died Oct. 1895, and his wife Sarah in 1906. Other children besides David and Frank were Ella who married Fred J. Harris and lived in Hays and Junction City, Mary who married Hill P. Wilson and stayed in Hays, and W. P. Jr. who also stayed in Hays. I believe the David I am seaking had a daughter named Ella, after his sister, and that she was an artist. I do not have the full census, only the index, but according to the index, these Montgomery's are listed on the same page: 1880 MONTGOMERY ANNIE* Pueblo County CO 255 Pueblo 1880 MONTGOMERY ELIZABETH* Pueblo County CO 255 Pueblo 1880 MONTGOMERY ELLA Pueblo County CO 255 Pueblo 1880 MONTGOMERY ISABEL Pueblo County CO 255 Pueblo Thanks you, Vicki Harris Richardson GVRichards@aol.com
