Hi List: I'm hoping that SKS may be able to help me. I have just learned that my grandfather and his brothers worked "the mines" from 1905 to 1912. There are gaps in this time period, apparently they returned to Italy and then came back to the US during this period. I don't think that they would show up in any directories but possibly on the 1910 Census. Would anyone know if there was some kind of "rooming house" that the men would live in. Also any idea of what ward it would be. If SKS has access to the 1910 Census, could you please do a lookup. Their names are: STEFANO RODINIS, PIETRO RODINIS AND GUISEPPE (JOE) RODINIS. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. TIA Pat

Posted on: Pueblo Co. Co Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Co/Pueblo/10245 Surname: Hudson, Kenagy, Kerley, McQuary ------------------------- Im Looking for information about Rudolph Harold Hal Kenagy and Veda Marie Mimi Hudson. They were married on 22 Mar 1919 in Walsenburg, Huefano, CO, but their marriage certificate states they were residents of Pueblo, Pueblo Co., CO on that date. Hal Kenagy, who was born in Wichita, KS abt 1982, was an Industrial Arts teacher and had previously taught both shop and history in Guthrie, OK before enlisting in the U.S. Army for service during WWI. I presume he was employed as a public school teacher while residing at Pueblo, CO in 1919. Mimi Hudson Kenagy was a daughter of Alvin Arthur Hudson of Jackson Co., MO. She had three known siblings: Cecil Arthur, Elison and Audrey (1824 - 1928). Audrey was my maternal grandmother and after she died of tuberculosis on 16 Apr 1928, Hal and Mimi raised my mother, Traba Fawn Kerley McQuary (29 Jul 1915 -17 Nov 1996) and her brother, Robert Hudson Kerley (8 Jul 1921 - 21 Nov 1967) in St. Clair Co., IL. (My mother and her brother were Mimis stepsister and stepbrother, respectively.) Its possible that other members of Mimis Hudson immediate family also moved to Pueblo, Pueblo Co., CO prior to her marriage to Hal in 1919. The Hudson family was ravaged by TB while residents of Missouri (In addition to Audrey, Mimis mother and her brother, Elison, are believed to have died of the disease.) and they may have moved to Colorado for their health. You may contact me directly at willardm1@earthink.net Thanks, Bill
Posted on: Pueblo Co. Co Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Co/Pueblo/10244 Surname: ------------------------- I have found the Family History Center microfilms of baptisms, deaths, and marriages for St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pueblo, Pueblo County, Colorado to contain information on most of the Croatians and Slovenians who resided in Pueblo. I don't know if it would be helpful to you, but I have found additional family members of mine in these records. Most of the Croatian and Slovenian men worked in either mining or steel mills. The local steel mill was the Colorado Fuel and Iron Corp, commonly referred to as "the Mill" and later as "CF&I.". A lot of the steel workers lived near the mill. I remember the mill's loud whistle that could be heard all over the south side of town. It was a reminder of shift changes. The miners commonly went to Leadville. When I was in college in Colorado in the 60's, I had a roommate whose father still worked for an operating mine in Leadville. I am sure Leadville has a historical society.
