Surnames: BAKER HERBERT CASKEY COCKRELL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jY.2ADI/38 Message Board Post: Still searching for my roots in Prowers & Baca Counties, CO. & Parker Kansas. I know that my grt grandmother Florence Caskey Cockrell(1872-1942) is buried in Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar(thanks to Mel West). I know my grt grandfather George Baker came from Oklahoma with his children; Victor, Earl, Nellie & my grandfather Frank Leland Baker. I know they owned two grocery stores in Baca County, 1 in Springfield & 1 in Two Buttes. I know Florence had a nephew named William Caskey who lived in Topeka Kansas. Florence was married to Milburn L. Cockrell a cattleman. They had two daughters Valeta Cockrell Hursh & my grandmother Calata Cockrell Baker(1899-1993). Calata married Frank Baker in Springfield CO. Victor George Baker married Hannah Herbert & then married a Mary. They had a son, Stanley who is buried in Minneapolis Cemetery in Baca. Earl married a Patsy. My Father Melvin Baker was born in 1926 in Colorado Springs. I heard that the old homestead is still there. Does! anyone have any info on my family? Thank you, Tami Baker Dean. email: deanteam@qwest.net
