    3. LOOK UP AND UPDATE ON RECORDS: Please do a look up of these names if you will. They are from the WHITE and MCNEESE families. McNeese is spelled over 600 variations of spelling so you have to look closely for them. They might be under the M's, Mc's, or N's. Anything that you have on the WHITE - MCNEESE families would be much appreciated: THE FAMILY SURNAMES ARE: McNEESE (with all the various deviations of spelling) McNeese, McNees, McNice, McNiece, McNeice, McNaois, McNeace, McNease, McNish, Neese, Nees, Ness, Nese, Naes, Neas, Nish, Neis, Nase, Niese, Nies, Nice, Neisse, Mackernss, etc. (deviations on spelling) WHITE - HAWKINS - DOSTER - MORRIS - CROUCH - CAMPBELL - BAXTER - WOOLSEY - BISHOP - MALTSBERGER BEALS/BAILS - KEEN(E) - YEAKLY - MOONEY - HOPKINS - TODHUNTER - GEESLING - HOOPES - MARSH SLAUGHTER - STEAL - ELLIS - MAGILL - ATTAWAY - EUBANKS - BRUNSON - BAKER - REID - MCELROY - BASKETTE MOULTON - GEESLING - STARNES - CRUMLEY - COTTER - DAVIS For an extra LIST OF SURNAMES go to: http://members.spree.com/sip/palisades/history.htm There are over 400 SURNAMES there to guide you with or by in your lookup research. I would like to try to find their origins in the USA and believe the origin to be PA but have very little on them there. DATES ARE: 1736 - 1999 (1736 is the date ship arrived in the Port of Philadelphia, PA where the families of WHITE and MCNEESE came with their children with them. They found a place to settle and live in PA in some County there until they began to migrate elsewhere. 1736 is when the family migrated from IRELAND to the USA. They may have taken a Port out of ENGLAND rather than sailing from IRELAND. 1. [COPROWER-L] Family Genealogy Records and Archives Web Site for CO
    2. Constance
    3. Hello All... I am new here to the Mailing List. I would like to get lookups, exchange records, and make connections. Personally, I have errected a Family Records and Archives Web Site in behalf of this mailing list and those in it with regards to my very large family Genealogy of the geographical area here pertaining to the WHITE and McNEESE families, which obviously has something to do with this thread. It includes records on Surnames, Genealogies, Histories, Ancestries, births, marriages, deaths, immigration, wills, military, divorces, children, etc. I hope to go into more specifics with you in the near future about it. It is a contribution to the areas, Counties, Countries, Names, and Histories to many locations. Try it out and take a look at it. If you find anything worthwhile then let me know and if you can contribute further to it then let me know. Someone in your family might be listed here. Try doing a look up for further information on connections. There are over 8000 individuals listed and over 1900 Surnames listed. (Too many to list them all here in this mailing list so take a look to see if your family is listed here) I wish that I could list all the information here at one time that pertains to this thread but it is so vastly large that I can only contribute parts at a time. So, in the meantime, I am sending the Web Site in whole as it is very huge. So please view it at this time while you can and Bookmark it if you will. http://members.spree.com/sip/palisades/history.htm Constance

    1. [COPROWER-L] Samuel/Abraham Johnson
    2. L. Grantham
    3. I appreciate the suggestion that I get newspaper article pertaining to Samuels death. Perhaps I should explain why I've not gone the newpaper route to find my Johnson. The letter quoting 1895 was written 60 years after the event. The thought comes to mind: Why was that man reading a Cincinnatti paper. He's not from Cinn. nor is his wife. He is 150 miles from Cinn. but he is 70 miles from Columbus. To search the 112 rolls of film for 1894-95-96 for both cities would take about the same amount of hours. (I'm a fast reader). These are interlibrary loan rolls. At $12.00 per hour for someone to take care of my husband , $3.00 per roll even if found the right roll in the first 25 rolls Its a "no way Jose". Ohio Historical Soc will not do newspaper research. I appreciate the suggestion tho. I was really hoping that someone could tell me if the various counties have books of death records. Should have asked that question. Please consider it asked. I thought as this man may have had a family in Colo: Perhaps someone would recognize their ancestor. I want to thank all of you for reading my query. And for the replies I've gotten. Especially those who took the time to check materials that they owned to find my evasive grandparent. 3. I am posting this to warn others about problems with ; Census Microfilm Expeditors 476 E. South Temple , Suite 4 Salt Lake City , UT 84111 website ; www.censusmicrofilm.com e-mail ; gme@nwinfo.net and ; sj@censusmicrofilm.com I was lured to order several microfilm copies from this company with "guarantees" of "speedy delivery" and "low price" . My order was placed in October of 1998 and as of this posting I have not received the order or a refund after numerous contacts with Steven Jensen at this firm . In his occasional replies he repeatedly gave false information to me as to the status of the order and cashed the check when mentioned stopping payment on it .I have copies of all documents and correspondences for those interested . Complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the United States Postal Inspectors , they have informed me that even they can't order this company to give a refund , but may seek criminal charges . I guess small claims court is next . If you are seeking genealogy resources......consider my experiences with this "Firm". Thank you , Kenneth Sartin researching ; Sartin , Sartain , Sarton , Sarten , Sardin etc. etc.

    2. L. Grantham
    3. Am resending this because I'd forgotten that it was necessary to subscribe to these mailing lists. And I've now subscribed. Looking for a Johnson needle in the Colorado haystack. Samuel (also used Abraham) Johnson was born c 1823 in Ohio. He mar. 1849 Sarah NEWELL, had one son ASA, div. in 1851, mar Virginia HALL in 1851. About 1879 he left her and their two daughters and went to Colo. According to a granddau c 1895 a article was in Cinncinnatti paper asking for the whereabouts of ASA and his two sisters, Rosa/Rosannah, mar CONLEY, Lucy mar?YATES or ?BURNFIELD. This was in regards to an estate in Colo. No one knows where the estate was nor Samuels exact death date. So far as is known the children never looked into matter. The two daus. may not seen a Cinncinnatti paper. I think one had moved to WV by that time. ASA had his own troubles. It is not known whether there was a third mar. in Colo. Can anyone give me suggestions as to where to look? Is there a unclaimed estate dept. in Colo? Any help will be most appreciated. L Grantham grantha@futureone.com All I want is when and where did Samuel die? Did he have a third family? A divorce record was never found for Virginia (HALL) JOHNSON but she did remar.
