From research and collected information I have this and any help will be appreciated: William Copeland (Sr) (Nicholas**5, Joseph**4, Nicholas*3, John "Jo"2, Lawrence1 Copeland/Copland/Coplin/Coupland) was born Bet. 1725 - 1730 in Essex Co., VA, and died Abt. 11 Nov 1789 in Chatham Co., NC. He married Sally (Lindsay/Lindsey?) Abt. 1755 in Chatham Co., NC, daughter of William Lindsay/Lindsey and ? Chew. (Not much is known about son William - in his will made Nov. 11, 1789 in Chatham County, North Carolina he mentions his sons Richard & John and his wife but not by name.
