Henry Hamilton Copeland was a brother to my great grand father , Joseph Edgar Copeland, commonly known as "Pa Ned" in and around Philadelphia, Neshoba, MS Henry Hamilton & Joseph Edgar Copeland's parents were David William Copeland b. 12 Sep 1837, Sumter Co.SC md. abt 1860 , Philadelphia,Neshoba Co. MS d. 25 Mar 1879 buried in Sandtown Meth. Church Cem. Sandtown, Neshoba Co. MS wife of David William Copeland was Susan Eliza Stewart b. 15 May 1838 , TN d. 17 Aug 1897 buried same place as husband David William Copeland's father was Daniel Copeland b. 1817 in Sumter SC. David's mother was Susan Emma Donald b.? died when David was about 10 or 12 in Sumter Co. SC. David, his brother: Stephen Nelson b. 1 Dec 1839, his sister: Sarah Elizabeth (Lizzie) b. 1841,went two live with their maternal grandfather Stephen Donald and 5 old maid daughters of Stephen Donald. These 5 sisters of their mother Susan Emma took care of them until their father passed away abt 1855. These aunts and their father Daniel & Daniels new wife Martha Smith with Daniels three children by Susan Emma Donald all moved to Coffedeliaha, Neshoba Co. MS. David Donald and his wife and children were already there in MS. There were other Donald Brothers there in MS also. David continued to live with his 5 aunts with his bro and sis. He met Susan Eliza Stewart who had moved into Philadelphia, Neshoba Co. MS with her widowed mother and 8 other siblings. Her mother was expecting another child at the time. Susan's father Hamilton Stewart was killed in a logging accident just over the TN boarder into AL. Susan's mother's brother was planning to move to Philadelphia MS at the time of her husbands death and she went with them. Susan's mother was Joannah Jacoway, daughter of Archibald Jacoway and Mary Susanna Gilreath. Both Joannah's parents were buried in Jackson Co. AL. Hamilton Stewart Jr. was the son of Hamilton Stewart Sr. and Ellizabeth Bledsoe, both of Salisbury Dist. Surry Co. NC. Joannah Jacoway b. 14 Jul 1808,TN Hamilton Stewart Jr. b. abt 1800 Surry Co.
