Died. "Copeland.- At the Old Soldiers' Home, near Washington, D.C., on the 17th of April, 1874, where he has resided for several years, John Younglove Copeland, aged 73 years. This faithful old soldier was reared in the towns of Edinburgh and Day, Saratoga county, New York (where he still has relatives) and enlisted into the United States Army more than fifty years ago. He served in the Regular Army over forty years and was in the Black Hawk, Florida, and Mexican campaigns. Like his father, Weeks Copeland, who was a soldier in the war of 1812, John was "every inch" a soldier. He was buried with the usual war ceremonies and his remains rest in close proximity with six or seven thousand other deceased soldiers of our former and latter wars, near the Old Soldiers' Home, one of the most interesting points at Washington, D.C., about three miles north of and in plain view of the dome of the United States Capital. Let no traveler fail to visit this sacred retreat, which is the prope! rty of the Regular Army. Ohio papers please copy."
