    3. I have seen it written both ways, but I believe it is JohnsTon. James and Elizabeth's son David named a son Johnston, so that may be a clue. Johnston was on the 1830 Chatham Co census; shortly afterwards he moved to Ray Co MO where he died in 1866. His wife Sarah went on to Oregon with the children! You will find a lot of dissention on James and Elizabeth's son John. My info is from the research of Jesse Macon Lawrence, but not from his "online tree" which is comprised of data sent to him by others and is not correct. His personal research marries John (@1775) to Zana Lasater and sends him to Buchanan Co MO.; some other researchers marry him to Judith Rawson and ship him to Ohio. I believe the Missouri info is correct and that the John (@1753) who went to Ohio is the son of David Copeland and Elizabeth Douglas. But I don't argue about it, LOL! Eventually if enough people are researching this family, the truth will be discovered. The Nicholas Copeland who married Nancy Jane Lott is from a different Copeland line, but I believe they are connected. Nancy dotsicle

    3. Nancy, Hezekiah and Elizabeth ended up in Franklin County, Tennessee, BUT, their son Hezekiah Jr. came to Missouri -- St. Genevieve County.
